e7f6334daa chore: retire mdedit tool — markdown editor lives in browse now
mdedit/ is gone. Its functionality moved into browse's preview plugin
(browse/js/preview-markdown.js) — YAML front matter editing, outline,
and on-demand DOCX/HTML/PDF download all happen there. Browse is the
default_tool for working/ + reviewing/ as of the previous commit, so
existing URLs of the form /<project>/working land on browse without
operator action.

Removed:

  • mdedit/ source tree (Toast UI app, CSS, JS, template, build.sh)
  • zddc/internal/apps/embedded/mdedit.html (//go:embed blob)
  • tests/mdedit.spec.js + the "mdedit" project in playwright.config.js
  • mdedit entries in zddc/internal/apps/embed.go (//go:embed, var,
    switch case in EmbeddedBytes)
  • "mdedit" in zddc/internal/zddc/validate.go AppNames + the matching
    error-message app list
  • "mdedit.html" branch in zddc/internal/apps/handler.go MatchAppHTML
  • mdedit case in tests (handler_test.go, validate_test.go,
    zddchandler_test.go) — test fixtures now use browse/classifier
  • mdedit from build (per-tool build.sh loop, tool-list literals,
    composer cards) and shared/build-lib.sh ZDDC_RELEASE_TOOLS
  • mdedit from freshen-channel's tool list and usage banner
  • mdedit-specific paragraphs in AGENTS.md and ARCHITECTURE.md;
Markdown Editor section in ARCHITECTURE.md rewritten to point at
    browse/js/preview-markdown.js
  • mdedit from CLAUDE.md, README.md, zddc/README.md tool lists

Historical mdedit_v*.html / mdedit_v*.html.sig files in
/srv/zddc/releases/ on the deploy host are immutable history — they
stay where they are. The next ./build release cut will simply not
produce new mdedit_v* artifacts.

5debd552ae feat: virtual fallback for archive/<party>/* folders + incoming fixture data
Three coupled fixes:

1. landing MDL card: Open button now navigates to /<project>/archive/
<party>/mdl (no trailing slash) so the tables tool loads. The
slash form would route to browse instead, which is not what users
want when they click "Open MDL".

2. zddc-server canonical-folder fallback extended to
   archive/<party>/{mdl,incoming,received,issued}. New
zddc.IsArchivePartyFolder() recognises any of the four party
folders at depth 4. fs.ListDirectory returns [] for missing
on-disk variants (mirroring the project-root behavior added in
commit 3fc3717); the dispatcher routes slash forms to
ServeDirectory and the no-slash mdl form to ServeTable, with
non-mdl no-slash forms 302'ing to the slash form.

So /Project-N/archive/<party>/incoming/ now lands on an empty
browse listing rather than 404 when nobody has dropped files yet.

3. Fixture seeded with 3 files per party under incoming/ — naming
intentionally NOT in transmittal-envelope form, so classifier
(loaded automatically by browse's grid mode at /incoming/
per the URL-driven view convention) has something to rename.

d052e9fed3 Round of UX fixes: tool strip removed, MDL routing, browse markdown layout, reviewing depth-2
Four user-reported items:

1. landing: remove the standalone-tool strip from the site picker.
Per user, it was awkward — links pointing at zddc.varasys.io
releases from inside a deployment is a layering confusion. The
nav.tool-strip block in landing/template.html and its CSS are
   gone.

2. zddc-server: route /Project/archive/<party>/mdl[/] to the tables
app for the virtual-MDL case where the on-disk folder doesn't
exist yet. Previously fell through to 404 because the dispatcher
only routed virtual mdl/ via the IsDir branch — the IsNotExist
branch was missing the equivalent check. Now both shapes (with
and without trailing slash) hit RecognizeTableRequest's default-
MDL fallback and ServeTable serves the embedded tables.html.

3. browse: re-layout the markdown editor to mirror mdedit's layout.
Was: sidebar on right with TOC top + front-matter bottom.
Now: sidebar on LEFT with YAML front matter top + Outline bottom,
content on RIGHT with an informational header (file title +
save controls + status + source) above the Toast UI editor.
New horizontal resizer between the front-matter and outline
sections inside the sidebar (drag the row boundary; arrow keys
step by 24 px). Browse test selectors updated.

4. zddc-server reviewing aggregator: extend to depth ≥ 2 so the
user can preview files inside virtual reviewing/<tracking>/
received/ and staged/ folders. IsReviewingPath now returns a
   sidePath ("received[/rest]" or "staged[/rest]"); ServeReviewing's
depth-2 branch proxies the underlying real folder's listing,
emitting folder entries with virtual reviewing/ URLs (so
navigation stays in the aggregator) and file entries with
canonical archive/ or staging/ URLs (so byte fetches resolve
directly). ACL is enforced against the real path; depth-1
received/ + staged/ URLs are now virtual too (was canonical),
so the user smoothly descends into the depth-2 listing.

Tests updated for the new IsReviewingPath signature and the depth-1
URL shape.

d5638e9697 feat(landing): MDL card with party dropdown on project view
The Master Deliverables List section was a long prose block ("To edit
the MDL: 1. open the archive, 2. click into a party folder, 3. click
mdl…") followed by a bullet list of party links — visually
inconsistent with the four stage cards above it.

Replaced by a fifth card in the .stages grid styled like the others:
heading + short description + an inline select + Open button. The
select populates from the same fetchParties() helper that backed the
old <ul.party-list>; selecting a party + clicking Open navigates to
/<project>/archive/<party>/mdl/.

Empty/error states:
  - No parties yet: select shows "(no party folders yet)"; hint copy
expands to explain the URL-based fallback (zddc-server still
auto-renders archive/<party>/mdl/ even when the folder is missing).
  - Network error: select shows "(could not enumerate parties)"; user
can navigate via the URL bar.

Updated landing.spec.js — the old "lists existing parties as direct
MDL links" test now asserts on #mdlPartySelect contents + click-to-nav.

436e8ca066 feat(landing): standalone-tool strip on the site picker
Above the Groups / Projects cards, a horizontal strip of one link per
tool — each pointing at the latest stable single-file build on the
canonical release host (zddc.varasys.io/releases/<tool>_stable.html).
Useful for "try this tool" / offline use without first picking a
project.

Seven links (Archive, Transmittal, Classifier, Markdown, Browse, Form,
Tables). Landing itself is omitted from the strip — clicking landing
from landing is a no-op. Each card has the tool name in the display
serif and a short sans hint underneath. Wraps on narrow widths instead
of scrolling horizontally; sits inside pickerView so it auto-hides on
the per-project landing view.

6260aa4860 feat(typography): bake IBM Plex Sans + Source Serif 4 into every tool
System-default font stack ('-apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI,
…') is the textbook generic admin-tool look. The tools have a real point
of view (engineering documents, traceability, immutability); the
typography should reflect that.

Picks:
--font → IBM Plex Sans (400 + 600). UI body text. Distinctive
engineering sans with tabular nums and proper figures.
  --font-display → Source Serif 4 (600). Headings, page titles,
.app-header__title. Reads as "document" not "UI label."
--font-mono → unchanged. Platform mono fonts are already excellent
and engineering tools rarely benefit from a custom mono.

Wiring:
  - Raw .woff2 files live in shared/fonts/ (~60 KB total, latin subset,
SIL OFL 1.1 — both families)
  - shared/fonts.css is base64-inlined data URIs for those three fonts
(~80 KB after b64 overhead). Generated once from the snippet in
    shared/fonts/README.md.
  - Every tool's build.sh prepends shared/fonts.css before shared/base.css
so @font-face is parsed before any rule references the family names.
  - Headings (h1-h6) and .app-header__title now use var(--font-display);
.app-header__title bumped 17→18px and letter-spacing reset since the
serif doesn't need the original sans-text tightening.
  - table/code/.tabular-nums get font-variant-numeric: tabular-nums so
    tracking-number columns align vertically.

"Ship the record player with the record": zero CDN dependency at render
time. Tools render identically offline and online. Per-tool dist sizes
grew by ~80 KB.

315d039880 refactor(landing): project landing is now a single-file SPA, not server-rendered
The /<project> landing page was server-rendered via
internal/handler/projecthandler.go's html/template — an inconsistency
against the project's "every tool is a single-file HTML" convention.
Convert it to a mode of the existing landing/ tool: same bundle now
serves both / (project picker) and /<project> (project workspace).

Mechanics:

  - landing/template.html: pickerView (existing markup) + projectView
(new: stage cards, browse-all, MDL section, party-list slot).
Mode toggles by adding/removing .hidden on the two containers.
  - landing/js/landing.js: detectMode() reads location.pathname;
renderProjectMode() populates stage hrefs from the project segment
and fetches /<project>/archive/?json=1 for the party list. init()
forks based on mode; picker init was extracted to initPicker().
Existing public API + behaviour unchanged for picker mode.
  - landing/css/landing.css: appended ~115 lines for the project view
(.stages grid, .stage-card hover, .party-list, MDL formatting).
  - cmd/zddc-server/main.go: dispatcher's IsProjectRootURL fork now
calls appsSrv.Serve(w, r, "landing", chain, absPath) rather than
    the deleted ServeProjectLanding handler.
  - internal/handler/projecthandler.go: trimmed to just the
IsProjectRootURL predicate (the dispatcher still needs it for
routing). Template + render code (~220 lines) deleted.

Net effect: same UI as before — same logo wrapping (now via
shared/logo.js, no longer a hand-rolled inline anchor), same stage
cards, same MDL instructions with party links — but the page is now a
single-file SPA that themes like the rest, follows the same logo and
stage-strip conventions, and could in principle be downloaded and
served standalone.

Tests:
  - 3 new tests/landing.spec.js cases: detectMode exposure, project
workspace renders at /<project> with correct stage hrefs + title,
party listing populates from JSON fetch and filters dot-prefixed
    entries.
  - The dispatcher test for /Project no-slash still asserts 200 +
no-redirect; the served body is now landing.html instead of the
server-rendered template, but both pass the assertion.

LOC: roughly net-neutral. -220 in projecthandler.go, +115 in
landing.css, +130 in landing.js, +60 in template.html.

7fd96c7c78 feat(shared): clickable logo links every tool's header to project home
The .app-header__logo SVG was decorative on every tool. Web's
strongest convention is "click logo → go home" — so users tapping
it expecting that fallback got nothing. Now the logo is wrapped in
an anchor whose href reflects the URL the page was loaded from:

file:// → no wrap (no server home to point at)
  / → wrap, href=/ (deployment root)
  /index.html / /<tool>.html → wrap, href=/ (root, no project)
  /<project>/... → wrap, href=/<project> (project landing)

The wrap happens client-side at DOMContentLoaded via shared/logo.js,
loaded by every tool's build.sh after toast/nav. Idempotent — a
template-supplied anchor or a second mount call is a no-op.

The companion shared/logo.css adds a subtle hover/focus affordance
(opacity 0.82, focus ring) so the logo reads as clickable without
otherwise altering its visual weight. Tools opt out by setting
window.zddc.logo.disabled = true before DOMContentLoaded (e.g. for
deployments that pin the logo to an external destination).

Five Playwright tests (tests/logo.spec.js) lock the contract:
no-wrap on file://, href=/ at root, href=/<project> in project
subtree, aria-label matches target, idempotent re-mount.

7ced0395b6 feat(shared): lateral project-stage strip in every tool's header
Adds a thin nav strip directly under the app-header showing the four
canonical lifecycle stages from the transmittal-workflow spec:
archive · working · staging · reviewing. Each is a link to that
stage's directory under the current project. Current stage is
highlighted (bold + primary color, aria-current="page"). Strip
mounts as a sibling of .app-header on DOMContentLoaded — no
template changes needed in any tool.

Render rules (shared/nav.js shouldRender):
- location.protocol must be http: or https: (file:// has no project
  structure to navigate within)
- a project segment must be detectable as the first path segment
(when it isn't a tool HTML file like /index.html or
/archive.html?projects=A,B). Multi-project view at the deployment
  root therefore shows no strip.

Stage URL targets:
- Archive → <project>/archive.html (project-root archive view)
- Working → <project>/working/ (directory listing — mdedit auto-served)
- Staging → <project>/staging/ (directory listing — transmittal auto-served)
- Reviewing → <project>/reviewing/ (directory listing)

Convention-driven, not probed: if a deployment doesn't have one of
these folders the link returns 404. Operators on non-standard layouts
can opt out by setting window.zddc.nav.disabled = true before
DOMContentLoaded.

This pairs with the previous landing-tool change (single-project
click → <project>/archive.html). Together they give the user
both URL-bar manipulation AND visible navigation across the four
canonical project stages.

Five Playwright tests in tests/nav.spec.js exercise:
- non-render at deployment root
- render + active stage on <project>/archive.html
- render + active stage deep inside <project>/working/foo/mdedit.html
- canonical link targets
- mount position is sibling of .app-header

cc515b0f56 feat(landing): single-project click navigates to <project>/archive.html
Previously every project click — single or group — built
archive.html?projects=<list> and let the archive tool's URL-state
detection fan out from there. For a single project that's a
single-page-app trick that obscures the canonical URL.

Now single-project clicks navigate to <project>/archive.html instead.
The benefit is direct URL manipulation: the user can swap archive.html
for working/, staging/, reviewing/, archive/<party>/mdl/table.html etc.
in the address bar without going back through landing. zddc-server's
availability.go already auto-serves the right tool at each canonical
folder, so the destinations resolve without any server change.

Multi-project clicks (groups) keep the ?projects=A,B form because
there's no single subtree root. ACL-trimmed groups that collapse to
one project also take the new single-project path, since the result
is effectively a single-project view either way.

The ?v= channel selector continues to carry across both paths.

Two existing landing.spec.js assertions updated to match the new
single-project URL shape; multi-project assertion unchanged.

8ba029612e feat(shared): non-blocking toast helper available to every tool
Promote classifier's local toast (classifier/css/base.css + showToast
in classifier/js/excel.js) into shared/toast.{js,css}. Every tool's
build.sh now concatenates them, so window.zddc.toast(msg, level, opts)
is callable from any tool.

API:
  window.zddc.toast('Saved.', 'success');
  window.zddc.toast('Could not load: ' + err.message, 'error');
  window.zddc.toast('Note', 'info', { durationMs: 3000 });

Levels: info (default) | success | warning | error. Single-toast
policy — a second call replaces the first. Click anywhere on the
toast to dismiss. ARIA: error → role=alert/aria-live=assertive,
others → role=status/aria-live=polite.

Class prefix is .zddc-toast (BEM-ish) to avoid colliding with any
tool-local .toast rules. Classifier's existing showToast now
delegates to window.zddc.toast — call sites in excel.js +
selection.js are unchanged. Classifier's local .toast CSS block
deleted in favor of the shared one.

This commit only EXPOSES the API. Replacing the ~25 alert() call
sites scattered across archive/transmittal/mdedit/classifier with
toast calls is left as follow-up — each alert needs per-call review
to decide if it's truly non-blocking.

Five Playwright tests in tests/toast.spec.js lock the contract:
API exposure, level mapping, ARIA roles, single-toast replace,
click-to-dismiss.

22c142e45a chore(headers): standardize across all 7 tools
Bring every tool's header in line with archive's pattern:

[logo] [title] [version] [Add Local Directory] [⟳] ............... [◐] [?]
  ------------- header-left --------------- ----- header-right -

Changes per tool:

* browse: rename "Select Directory" → "Add Local Directory"; add the
red-non-stable wrap to the build label (was missing); add a help
  panel + bundle shared/help.js.

* classifier: rename selectDirectoryBtn → addDirectoryBtn,
refreshBtn → refreshHeaderBtn for consistency. Update all JS
callers and welcome-screen copy to the new label.

* mdedit: same id rename. Move the previously-in-pane refresh
button into the header. Stop renaming the dir button to
"Directory: <name>" once a folder is loaded — instead use the
shared btn--subtle variant to de-emphasize while keeping the
  standard label.

* transmittal: convert non-standard <div class="app-header"> with
  spacer/icons containers to <header class="app-header"> with the
canonical header-left/header-right pair. Move the publish split-
button into header-left (Transmittal-specific primary action).
  Remove dead .app-header__spacer/__icons/header-icon-btn CSS now
  that nothing references those classes.

* landing, form: add help-btn + help-panel + bundle shared/help.js.
Each panel is tool-specific (project picker docs for landing,
  schema-driven form docs for form).

Cross-cutting:

* shared/base.css: promote .btn--subtle from browse/css/tree.css
so any tool with an online mode can de-emphasize Add Local
  Directory consistently.

Verified all 7 tools in headless Chromium: header structure correct,
build label red on non-stable cuts, help panel opens + closes via
button + Esc.

a6c3c9df5e chore(headers): standardize titles + refresh icon across tools
Cross-tool header inconsistencies cleaned up after the audit
prompted by the browse Phase 2 work:

  - landing/template.html: title was 'ZDDC Archive' (a holdover from
when landing WAS the archive). The page is now the project
picker — title shortened to plain 'ZDDC'. Browser tab title
follows: 'ZDDC Archive — Projects' → 'ZDDC — Projects'. Title +
build label wrapped in title-group div for layout consistency
    with archive/classifier/mdedit/browse.
  - form/template.html: title was bare; same title-group wrapping.
The id='form-title' stays — its content is overwritten at
runtime by form.js based on the form schema's name.
  - classifier/template.html: refresh button text 'Refresh' →
'⟳' icon to match archive + browse. Same title attribute, just
    smaller visual weight.

Untouched (intentionally):
  - archive's button stays 'Add Local Directory' + addDirectoryBtn
id — semantically different from the others (archive
accumulates multiple directories; everyone else operates on
    one). The naming reflects that.
  - transmittal — different layout entirely (page-header with
sender/receiver logo cells); not a candidate for app-header
    standardization.

d0929a2aa9 feat(landing): groups + click-to-open redesign
Replaces the caret-dropdown preset menu with two stacked cards:

Groups (top) — saved bundles of projects; click to open the archive
                    with that group's project set; per-row edit/delete
                    buttons.
Projects — filterable table; in default mode no checkboxes,
click any row to open just that project.

"+ New group" or a row's edit button enters select-mode: checkboxes
appear on each project row, an action bar shows above the projects card
with Save group / Open visible-checked / Cancel.

"Open visible-checked" intentionally excludes filter-hidden checked
projects so users can scope to a subset they're currently looking at.

Storage migrates from old zddc_landing_presets to zddc_landing_groups
(simpler shape: {name, projects: [...]}). One-shot migration runs on
first load.

Adds the new favicon SVG to the landing header alongside the title.
Drops the ?projects= URL state since selection is no longer the page's
primary state in click-to-open mode.

Updates Playwright suite: 9 new test cases covering click-to-open, group
crud, edit pre-population, "open selected visible" scoping, and legacy
preset migration. Adds a LandingApp._setNavigate test hook since
window.location.href cannot be reliably patched in modern engines.

2dc9ad240c refactor: distribute via Codeberg release assets, drop the upstream image
Removes the codeberg.org/varasys/zddc-server registry image, which had
no remaining consumer outside this shop. The two chart Dockerfiles
(tnd-zddc-chart) now compile zddc-server from source at build time,
fetching the right tag from a Codeberg release. release-image.sh,
zddc/Containerfile, and zddc/podman-compose.yaml are gone.

Build artifacts (HTML tools + zddc-server binaries) move from
website/releases/ in this repo to Codeberg release assets attached to
git tags. The website at zddc.varasys.io serves them by reverse-
proxying /releases/<tag>/<asset> to the corresponding Codeberg URL,
so consumers (zddc-use, level-2 bootstrap stubs, the chart
Dockerfiles) only ever talk to zddc.varasys.io.

Releases page becomes server-rendered static HTML regenerated on each
build via a single Codeberg API call. A small website/releases/manifest.json
maps <tool>-<channel> → tag for runtime channel resolution by zddc-use
and the level-2 stubs.

Files added:
- shared/publish-codeberg-release.sh — POSIX-sh helper that creates a
Codeberg release for a tag (sets prerelease flag from tag suffix)
and uploads/replaces release assets idempotently. Sourced by
  build-lib.sh and zddc/release.sh.
- zddc/release.sh — replaces release-image.sh. Tags + cross-compiles
binaries via native Go (no podman needed; install Go) + uploads to
Codeberg release assets. No image build, no registry push.

Files modified:
- shared/build-lib.sh — promote_release tags + uploads via the helper
for stable AND alpha/beta now (alpha/beta were untagged before).
update_alpha removed; per-tool build.sh files no longer mirror to
  website/releases/<tool>_alpha.html on plain dev builds.
- build.sh — prefers native go build over the old podman-based
cross-compile (which is gone with Containerfile). build_releases_index
queries the Codeberg API once and writes static HTML + manifest.json,
with graceful fallback when the API is unreachable.
- bootstrap/level2.html.tmpl — fetches manifest.json to resolve
channel → tag, then fetches the asset from /releases/<tag>/<asset>
(Caddy proxy). Replaces the old /releases/<tool>_<channel>.html flat
URL pattern. Operators with curl'd level-2 stubs need to re-issue
them — this is a breaking change.
- AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md — rewritten to describe the new flow.
- .gitignore — releases/ artifacts now expected to be on Codeberg, not
  committed locally.

NOT in this commit (deferred until $CODEBERG_TOKEN is provisioned):
- Backfilling existing tags as Codeberg releases.
- Cleanup commit: git rm-ing the existing artifacts in website/releases/.
Until backfill happens, those files are how operators with old
bootstrap stubs still get content. Once Codeberg has the assets,
  drop them.
- The Caddy reverse-proxy config on zddc.varasys.io.

Operator-side changes (not in this repo):
- tnd-zddc-chart Dockerfile.prod and Dockerfile (dev) need updating
to compile from source rather than `FROM codeberg.org/...:stable`.
Done in a separate commit on that repo.
- Caddyfile rule for the /releases/<tag>/<asset> reverse-proxy.

916e53d873 feat(install): replace .zip downloads with copy-paste shell snippets
The "Install on your server" section of the home page now prints four
short shell snippets — copy-paste into a terminal, files land in CWD.
Each uses curl to fetch the relevant bootstrap files; nothing else to
install:

  1. Self-contained: fetches the 5 current-stable tool HTMLs into CWD
                        plus a _template/ directory of level-1 stubs.
~1.8 MB on disk; no runtime dependency on the
                        site after install.
  2. Track stable: fetches 5 tiny level-2 stubs (~10 KB total)
                        that fetch zddc.varasys.io's stable channel
                        on every page load.
  3. Track beta: same, for beta.
  4. Track alpha: same, for alpha.

Each snippet card explains when/why to use that option directly inline.

Implementation:
  - build.sh now produces website/bootstrap/level1/<tool>.html and
    website/bootstrap/track-{alpha,beta,stable}/<tool>.html as
standalone files (rather than packaging them into zips).
  - install.zip and track-{alpha,beta,stable}.zip are removed; the
snippets curl the per-channel stubs directly.
  - Docs updated: README, ARCHITECTURE, CLAUDE, AGENTS, bootstrap/README,
    zddc/README, landing/build.sh comment.

c95f07966d feat(tools,build): in-flight HTML-tool reworks and build-infra updates
Bundles a stretch of in-progress work across the SPA tools so the
tree returns to a coherent shippable state ahead of cutting a new
zddc-server stable image:

- landing: substantial rework of the project picker (sortable/filterable
table, presets refactor, ?projects= filter, ?v= channel propagation,
  loading/error states)
- archive: presets cleanup, source.js refactor, filtering/url-state
  alignment with the landing page
- mdedit: file-system module split, resizer, file-tree improvements,
  base/toc styling tweaks
- transmittal/classifier: small template touch-ups for shared chrome
- shared: build-lib.sh helpers, new favicon.svg
- bootstrap, build.sh: pick up the channel-aware install/track zip
  generation
- tests: new landing.spec.js, expanded archive/mdedit/build-label specs
- docs: CLAUDE.md picks up the zddc-server section and freshens the
  alpha-build exception note
- regenerated artifacts: install.zip, track-{alpha,beta,stable}.zip,
*_alpha.html — these are produced by `sh build.sh` and per project
convention are committed alongside the source changes

f8a3da2ea1 feat(archive,landing): local-mode ?projects= filter + ?v= propagation
Two small additions to the project-filter / channel-selector flow that
already worked end-to-end for HTTP-mode but were missing in the local
File-System-Access path and across landing→archive navigation:

* archive: scanLocalRecursive now applies window.app.projectFilter at
depth 0, mirroring the HTTP source's existing filter at source.js:316.
Loading archive.html?projects=A,B in local mode (file://) now virtually
merges A and B into one combined view, same as HTTP mode does today.

* landing: openArchive() reads ?v= from its own URL and passes it through
to the archive.html link it generates. This keeps the user on the same
channel (alpha/beta/stable/<version>) when they cross from the project
picker to the archive — without it, alpha-channel users would silently
drop back to whatever the deployment-default channel is at the
  archive.html boundary.

Test exercises the local-mode filter via the existing mock-fs-api
fixture: three top-level projects, projectFilter set to {A, B}, scan
produces only A's and B's files. (The url-state.restore() URL parsing
path is well-trodden in the HTTP case — the test sets projectFilter
directly to isolate the new source.js change from a pre-existing init()
fragility in the mock environment.)

03f83ad211 feat(build): symlink website/releases/<tool>_alpha.html into dist instead of copying
Every plain `sh tool/build.sh` invocation now reasserts a relative symlink
website/releases/<tool>_alpha.html → ../../<tool>/dist/<tool>.html so the
alpha hyperlinks always serve whatever dist currently holds. Idempotent — git
sees no churn on rebuild. `--release alpha` still wins by overwriting the
symlink with a real "alpha · <date> · <sha>" file; the next plain build
re-symlinks it.

Five existing alpha files become typechanges (regular file → symlink) — the
one-time migration cost. The reassertion survives deployment because the
website is served directly from the working tree.

67f794e6d0 refactor: rename channel 'latest' to 'stable' across all artifacts
The 'latest' label for the current-stable channel was inconsistent
with the channel set we use elsewhere (alpha / beta / stable). Rename
to 'stable' so URLs, file names, zip names, and image tags all line
up with the channel terminology used in the bootstrap, AGENTS.md
discipline rules, and chart consumers.

File / artifact renames
- website/releases/<tool>_latest.html → <tool>_stable.html (5 files)
- website/track-latest.zip → track-stable.zip
- shared/build-lib.sh: promote_release writes/refreshes _stable.html
- bootstrap/level{1,2}.html.tmpl: channels map drops 'latest', keeps
'stable' as the canonical name. ?v=stable is now the explicit way
to switch to current-stable for one request (alongside ?v=alpha,
  ?v=beta, and ?v=X.Y.Z).
- build.sh: install.zip sources from <tool>_stable.html; emits
  track-stable.zip instead of track-latest.zip.

Container image (.woodpecker.yml rewritten)
- Tag publishing now cascades:
    zddc-server-vX.Y.Z → :X.Y.Z, :stable, :beta, :alpha, :latest
    zddc-server-vX.Y.Z-beta.N → :X.Y.Z-beta.N, :beta, :alpha
    zddc-server-vX.Y.Z-alpha.N → :X.Y.Z-alpha.N, :alpha
- :stable, :beta, :alpha are now first-class channel pointers; chart
consumers (e.g. tnd-zddc-chart) can FROM :beta for dev and FROM
  :stable for prod.
- :latest kept as an alias for :stable per Docker convention.

Documentation sweep
- AGENTS.md, ARCHITECTURE.md, CLAUDE.md, README.md
- bootstrap/README.md, zddc/README.md
- website/index.html, website/zddc-server.html
- transmittal/template.html, transmittal/README.md
all updated to reference _stable.html / track-stable.zip / the
'stable' channel name. ARCHITECTURE.md's manual freshen example
points at ./freshen-channel instead of the old git-checkout snippet.

ea385b5366 Initial commit
ZDDC — Zero Day Document Control. A file-naming convention plus five
single-file HTML tools (archive, transmittal, classifier, mdedit,
landing) and an optional Go HTTP server (zddc-server) with ACL and a
virtual archive index. Self-contained, offline-capable, dependency-free.

See README.md for an overview, AGENTS.md and ARCHITECTURE.md for the
build/release/architecture detail, bootstrap/README.md for the
two-level deployment install pattern, and zddc/README.md for the
HTTP server.
